The 3rd Dialogue with Sarawak Youth on Continuing the Legacy of Freedom and Harmony under the 1Malaysia Concept was held on the 18th January 2011 (Tuesday) at Mega Hotel Miri, jointly organised by Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) and Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS).
The objectives of the Dialogues were to engage the youth in understanding and safeguarding the freedom and harmony in the country and to provide an avenue for the youth to discuss on current issues affecting their country and their future. About 140 youth from secondary school, colleges, universities, uniformed bodies, ethnic associations and other association/organization in and around Miri attended the Dialogue.
Issues on Social ills, Education, 1Malaysia concept, Employment opportunities, SCORE, Environment, Governance and Government & ICT were discussed by the youth with YAB Pehin Sri Chief Minister of Sarawak during the Open Dialogue.
In conjunction with the Youth Dialogue, YPS also launched their ‘Sarawak Youth for Unity 2011’, calendar of programs and activities.
These activities and programmes would be organised by YPS, SDI and Faradale Media M Sdn Bhd. Many exciting programs like YPS Logo competition, Short film competition, Intercultural Youth Forums and others have been lined up for the youth of Sarawak. Please follow this blog for more information.
